Developing Mobile Applications for the iPhone and Android Using .NET MVC and Sencha Touch 2
Level: Session
Speaker: Kevin Grossnicklaus
Topics: Android, ASP.NET, iOS, MVC
In this session we will discuss one possible means of developing applications targeting the Android and iPhone/iPad devices while using tools and technologies familiar to .NET developers. We will demonstrate how to use Visual Studio 11 and the ASP.NET MVC platform to delivery rich applications to these devices without the need for going through their respective app stores. Or, if you want to package your application and distribute it through the Android or Apple app store, we'll demonstrate how that is possible as well.
We will demonstrate the use of a JQuery library called Sencha Touch in conjunction with C# and MVC3 to build mobile applications via HTML5 that look and feel "native". We'll talk about the benefits and drawbacks of this approach, we will discuss some alternatives, and we will demonstrate some tools to make this as easy as possible.
